Original Compositions and Improvisations
Fur Luis, written for Julian Delfino, July 2020
Following the same form as Beethoven’s Fur Elise, Laetitia enjoyed composing her own bagatelle for the person she loves. She chose the key of E-flat minor because it’s a very soulful key. So far a happier outcome than Beethoven and Elise!

Gwinna’s Waltz, written for Gwinna Delfino, October 2021
Laetitia composed this sweet waltz in anticipation of her daughter’s birth. She imagined a music box playing a song that could help put her daughter to sleep.

Recorder Mornings, written for 4th-grade Metolius Elementary students, March 2018
For those times when you get to teach 30 4th graders how to play recorder at 8 in the morning on a Thursday. You know, those times. 😀
Note: Laetitia wanted to re-record this again after recording it originally in 2018 because she wanted to try singing and playing at the same time instead of recording each track separately.

Sea Animal Puzzle Song, written for Kindergarten students at Metolius Elementary students, March 2018
Listen to the clues and see if you can guess the sea animal! There’s a dance that goes with each one too. 🙂
Note: Laetitia wanted to re-record this again after recording it originally in 2018 because she wanted to try singing and playing at the same time instead of recording each track separately.

Tribute to Forrest Kinney: tempo di cinnamon roll written for Forrest Kinney, December 2020
Laetitia took some life-changing piano lessons with Forrest Kinney in the last months of his life. Because he was on hospice and money didn’t mean much to him, Laetitia traded her special sourdough cinnamon rolls for piano lessons. Several of these lessons were about the piano style boogie woogie which both Laetitia and Forrest loved and appreciated. The title of this piece also pays homage to Fats Waller, a pianist they both deeply admired.

Recorder Mornings: instrumental, inspired by Recorder Mornings
Laetitia enjoyed playing Recorder Mornings so much that she turned it into a short instrumental arrangement for solo piano with an improvised middle section.

Wedding Song, written for Julian Delfino, August 2021
Laetitia composed this song for her husband-to-be, Julian, and sang and played it at their wedding in 2021. Until recording it this year she didn’t realize that she had mixed meters…but that fits even better because love is complicated…

That’s Why It’s Good to Be a Tree, written for 1st-grade Metolius Elementary students, March 2018
There’s nothing better than singing and dancing this song with 50 first graders. Laetitia will always remember how fun it was to come up with the dance with Mrs. Hughes’s students after she taught them the song.
Note: Laetitia wanted to re-record this again after recording it originally in 2018 because she wanted to try singing and playing at the same time instead of recording each track separately.

Featuring the titles of Metolius Elementary 2nd graders’ favorite books as they celebrated learning to read.
